Tapestries
Handwoven on looms using plant-based fibres, these tapestries follow the material's own structural logic. By braiding, crossing and skipping threads, the fibre shift in volume, density and form. Undyed, naturally dyed and synthetically dyed strands introduce nuanced tonal variation; open sections and frayed edges let air and light move through them.
Two core directions shape the body of work. One focuses on braided structures that create small spatial pockets inside the loom so fibres can intertwine and connect on their own terms. The other uses triangular constructions to test tension, pushing how far the fibre can hold shape. Suspended, these pieces become wall works, room dividers or soft architectural forms.
